Nutrient management in Mango orchards

Highlights:

  • Every year 15 to 25 kg of Farm Yard Manure should be given per plant.

  • Nutrient requirement for first year: 160 g Urea : 110 g SSP: 110 g MOP per plant

  • Nutrient requirement for second year: 320 g Urea : 220 g SSP: 220 g MOP per plant

  • Nutrient requirement for third year: 480 g Urea : 330 g SSP: 330 g MOP per plant

  • Nutrient requirement for 10th year onwards: 1600 g Urea : 1100 g SSP: 1100 g MOP per plant

  • August – September month is best for providing nutrients.

  • Mango special- Recommended twice before flowering and twice after flowering, from September to December at monthly intervals. Recommended at 400 g per 100 liters of water along with one lemon juice. It contains most of the micronutrients which enhance fruit quality in terms of fruit appearance, fruit keeping quality, and taste.
